What You Need to Know

Common questions about maintaining your indoor air quality system

How do you reset Trane CleanEffects®?

To reset at the air cleaner press and hold the RESET key until the PREFILTER LED turns off (1 to 2 seconds). To reset the Collection Cell timer at the Comfort Control select Filter 2 Change Reminder, then press the More key to access the filter timer value and then press the Reset key.

How often do you clean CleanEffects filter?

The Trane system will tell you when it needs to be cleaned, but in general, you should vacuum the filter every one to three months. Clean more frequently if you suffer from allergies, smoke, or have furry pets.

How long do Trane filters last?

You should always double-check your owner's manual for specific recommendations, but generally speaking it's best to clean or change your filters once every 3 to 9 months.

What happens if you don't clean your furnace filter?

Without a new air filter, the furnace will overheat every time it starts up again. This is referred to as short cycling. Dirty furnace filters cause your furnace to work harder than it should due to a decrease in airflow. The harder your furnace works, the quicker its parts will wear out and need repairs.
